The Qianhai New Urban Center Open Day was unveiled this afternoon for citizens and business representatives to participate in a tour of the Qianhai area to let them learn about the construction process and the blueprint of Qianhai.
The tour started at the Qianhai Exhibition Hall, which was designed with three layers of capsule-like rooms to form a dream-like sense of space. The exhibition hall consists of five themes: preface hall, Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation, planning and exhibition, industrial layout and business environment. The narrative process moves from the present to the future and combines with the architectural form and space, creating a one-stop window for visitors to have a view into the past, present and future of Qianhai.
The group then went to the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub (E-hub). Founded on Dec. 7, 2014, the E-hub was jointly initiated by the Qianhai Cooperation Zone Authority, Shenzhen Youth Association and Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups. It is an international service platform that helps the vast number of youths from Shenzhen and Hong Kong realize their entrepreneurial dreams. Up to now, 388 entrepreneurship teams have been incubated at the E-hub, half of which are from the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan as well as overseas.
Additionally, entrepreneurs who settle at the E-hub can enjoy a large number of favorable policies provided by the Qianhai Authority in terms of housing, entrepreneurship, employment, transportation and more.
The third stop of the tour was the Qianhai Stone Park, where General Secretary Xi Jinping gave a speech on the planning and development of Qianhai. The stone, on which the word “Qianhai” was engraved, has become a landmark for the area. The park has become an important monument that reflects the reform and opening up in the new era.
The tour ended at Qianhai’s No. 2 cold station, which is the first cold station built in the area. It covers a construction area of 13,300 square meters with a maximum cooling capacity of 46,800 refrigerating tons.
The Qianhai Cooperation Zone plans to build 10 cold stations and a 90-kilometer municipal cooling network. The total cooling capacity will reach 400,000 refrigerating tons to serve the Guiwan, Qianwan and Mawan areas.
"The open day activity is very meaningful and allows us to gain an intuitive feeling for and deep understanding of Qianhai, the forefront of China’s reform and opening up. The rapid development of Qianhai is amazing. I believe it will become an important economic growth engine for Shenzhen and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,” a citizen surnamed Li said.
Mrs Liu, general manager of a Shanghai-based trade company, came all the way from Shanghai to Shenzhen，expressed her expectation to Qianhai：“ The Qianhai free trade area will serve as the core engine area of the pilot demonstration zone of socialism with Chinese characteristics, which is a huge business opportunity for me. The reason why I come here is to learn more about Qianhai，and I may open a branch of my company here to take advantage of the geography and policy advantage here.”
The Open Day series will continue on the afternoons of Sept. 30 and Oct. 11.
